Landscape in the pocket. Small space, limited time, intensive concentration, progressive targets and actions. It is more than a postcard, rather capturing the nature and soul of the landscape.
The advantage of intensive shooting for a few days or a week is, that I can immediately implement any needed change or test something else on the next day within the same week. At the same time, it is a challenge to try to photograph the landscape or city differently, use a different photographic technique or procedures – move the camera during exposure or use a multiple exposure. When shooting the landscape, I got to the ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) technique that brought me closer to my favourite impressionists.
The landscape is also a kind of gym, space for training the eye, mind and aesthetic feeling. It allows anyone, without membership fees and tuition, to practice the application of compositional rules and sharpen technical discipline at any time.
